Tia Susana

She is my aunt Susana. I had a very good picture, I think this is very important when doing a caricature, specially for the render and colors.

She is very funny. I miss her very much. I haven´t seen her since we moved to Canada and she moved to Spain four years ago.

My brother Héctor

Yep, here is my own version of my brother Héctor, he has a tricky smile a little hard to capture. However, I think I got it.

coloring my nephew's drawing

My nephew, Juan Diego, is 4 years old and LOVES to draw. He has an obsession with super-heroes and cartoons. A few days ago my brother showed me his version of Robin (or Tobin?) I decided to color it as a warm up exercise this morning. I think he (JD) is very good for his age, look at the details in the uniform. The proportions are not too bad at all. I hope he doesn’t loose his passion and keep drawing. I will encourage him a lot.

Spotlight in Bobby Chiu's Imaginism Studios

I met Bobby Chiu around 4 months ago (July 2008). He not only is an amazing artist, but also a very nice person willing to help you and teach you how to improve your art. This week he surprised me with a small (but very important for me) note about my art, my improvement and my hard work. You probable came from Bobby’s blog, but if don't, you can check it on the link below. Just don’t forget to come back. ;)

Thanks Bobby.

La Nenita!!!

Well, she’s my mom. This has been the hardest I’ve ever done. I don’t know how many sketches I made. I tried different approaches, but I wasn’t happy with it. Finally a little help form a great artist, who showed me a little thumbnail with his thought was enough to start painting, and after a couple of tries this one came out. I’m very happy with the result.

This was the sketch that helped me a lot. Thanks man!

Albus Dumbledore

Albus Dumbledore (actor: Michael Gambon)

I’m really impressed with the improvement I have had in just a few months. I started digita painting this year. Looking at my very first post here, that was one of my fists paintings, makes me feel very good...and there is still a lot more to improve...

Lets go 3D

It is not always about painting. Sculpting has been something that I find very fascinating. And ones again thanks to the Internet, I found out the name of some materials and the procedure of sculpting, and then it is just learning from the mistakes. Here are my first little sculptures that where made especially for my friends.

Serenata Guayanesa

This is one of my favorite Venezuelan groups “Serenata Guayanesa”. They play traditional Venezuelan music especially for kids. I grow up listen to them and I still do it. One day I’ll put some color on it.

Tia Julia

Hi this is a caricature of my aunt Julia.

Kami

This little dog is my baby, her name is Kami. This is a digital painting based on a photo I took. The hair was a real challenge. By the time I got to the floor i was so tired that I rush it a little.

Here is a digital painting of Voldemort. I used several images for this one. On the one I had the right hand covered the face, so I used other images to do the face.

El Sonero del Mundo!!!

Oscar D'León is a Venezuelan musician who became internationally famous for his Salsa Music. In Spanish, he is known as El Sonero del Mundo ("the Improviser of the World"). His most famous song is perhaps "Llorarás," which he recorded in 1975 with his group La Dimensión Latina. Wikipedia.

Digital Sketches

Today I went for digital sketches, I try to find some interesting pictures on Internet and I sketched them as fast as a could.

This cute Schnauzer is Kami, my puppy. The other one is Rufo, my aunt's baby.

This old man is from une of my aunt's photos, she is an excellent photographer. Here is her webpage if you want to take a look http://www.mfabbianifotografia.com/ BTW, I made her webpage.

My Dad

I had always thought that my dad was easy to caricaturize. I guess I didn’t have a good picture to use, but it was a little hard to do. In the end it came out a nice caricature (I think?) any way my dad is very happy with it. I'm posting a few pictures I used as a reference.

Hello!
Well, here I am with my first post. During the last months, I’ve learned and improved my “art” a lot just by reading blogs from great artists. I decided to create my own, so I can share what I do, help others, and definitely learn and learn more.

I hope you enjoy my illustrations as much as I enjoyed doing them.

As you can notice English is not my first language; however ,feel free to write me in English, Spanish or even French.

Gracias-Thanks-Merci
